Scienceparks Summit, supported by IASP (International Association of Science Parks),which is the first and only activity devoted to science parks in Turkey , is the holder of IEEE Darrel Chong Student Activity Silver Award given by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.), the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology, to students for their well-qualified and encouraging knowledge-sharing endeavors. 4th Science parks Summit will be held in Mersin at 16-18 November 2007.

Science parks Summit was first held at METU (Middle East Technical University), then at NCTR (Northern Cyprus of Turkish Republic) Gazi Mağusa. And at third summit,held in Bosphorus University in İstanbul, the knowledge-sharing platform between science parks and related entities were widened into an extensive level with high participation from industry.

This time, Scienceparks Summit, aiming to strengthen Industry-University colloboration and laying the groundwork for technological and innovative job ideas , will be waiting for its participants both from Turkey and other countries .With the help of the route mapped out, not only a local consciousness will be created in the area in which the summit is organized and with the support of local administratives new regional innovation strategies will be developed, but also new ideas will be proposed by universities and university students related to their roles and their contributions to these ideas. Moreover, on an international part of the summit, successful science park models both from Turkey and the world that have a great impact on regional growth will be analysed.

4th Scienceparks Summit, organized by Mersin IEEE ve METU IEEE student branches,is aiming to yield new viewpoints to scienceparks in the area of agriculture, metal autuomotive industry etc. with the contribution of national and foreign sciencepark authoroties by arranging a session. Authorities from IEEE will also lectures regarding tecnoparks. Furthermore, a panel will be arranged with the topic “The Role of Scienceparks in Innovation Based Development”.And , In order to support and develop the innovative ideas of students, workshops and presentations will be made upon entrepreneurship.
